When doing /voyeur/candid/secret shots take precaution measures.
First, get to know your phone/camera and how it works. Disable shooter sounds and flash.
(For instance, make sure that the flash doesn't turn on automatically when it gets darker - check settings.)
Next. Keep distance (use zoom), that is, don't get to close to the subject you're photographing, e.g. invading their personal space.
If you lover your camera, you can get good shots of girl's footwear, feet, jeans, butts, hair etc.
When your camera/phone is lowered, people wouldn't assume you're taking pics/filming them.
Also, when you're behind them, especially if there is a group of friends, it is less likely they'll notice you - they'll be walking and talking
and won't pay attention behind them. And you can get a bit closer to them.
However, don't get carried away and follow for a long period of time - that can be suspicious and it can happen that they do notice you,
If you get a suspicion, just walk pass them, change direction, go away.
Sales ladies, waitresses etc. are often busy with their work so when they are occupied you can get good shots of them on your camera/phone.
However, be also careful - they do pay attention to the customers, who goes in and out (because of the shoplifters) so they might notice what you are doing - for instance, if you are taking candid photos of one female employee and the other one might be near and notices something suspicious.
Lower the brightness on the phone screen or cover it with a shopping list, wallet, a card, anything... so a person behind or near you won't see
what you are filming.
Some of my work - favourite subject: footwear&feet.
I hope you'll like it.
